Guides, project breakdowns, and lessons learned from building medical imaging platforms — written by the PYCAD team.
Approximate box on a 29 MHz micro-US slice in. Frozen MedSAM plus CLAHE, dilation, and Fourier contour smoothing hang a training-free prostate overlay for PSAD or biopsy registration. Point clicks fail on speckle. arXiv:2608.14796.
Guangzhou-trained pediatric pneumonia AI keeps usable AUROC in Bangladesh and Vietnam, but the locked source threshold drops sensitivity to 6.2% and 0%. Recalibration restores alerts at a steep false-positive cost. arXiv:2609.05140.
Flag a bad axial band on a T1 brain volume. SliceBridge reconstructs those slices from intact neighbors with coupled rectified flow and hangs the repaired interval back. arXiv:2609.01827.
Hang a polyp or skin lesion frame with a short text instruction. InstEditSeg edits the frame with latent diffusion and returns a color-coded overlay on the original pixels. arXiv:2609.02004.
Hang co-registered whole-body PET and CT with organ masks and radiology text pinned to those regions. MetaStructAtlas plus MetaStructVQA give 490 volumes, 50k+ masks, and about 100k grounded QA pairs for PET+CT overlay and multimodal Q&A rails. arXiv:2609.03690.
Hang fully sampled reference contrasts beside an undersampled target. CoSMo-RecNet freezes a public-DICOM content/style prior, trains a light RecNet on a handful of paired raw scans, and returns the reconstructed target for low-field and ultra-low-field brain MRI. arXiv:2609.01959.
We build custom medical imaging platforms — advanced DICOM viewers, AI segmentation, and the clinical systems around them.
